Retro yearbook portraits with ChatGPT, in a group yearbook

ChatGPT can turn a selfie into a retro yearbook portrait when you ask for one, for example “a 1990s yearbook photo with a laser background”. Yrbk takes that image and puts it in a group yearbook under the person's name, gives every photo in the book the same era look.

Steps

  1. Share a photo. In ChatGPT, attach a clear photo of the person (with their OK).
  2. Ask for the portrait. “Make a 1990s yearbook portrait of this photo, then add it to our Yrbk as Maria.” ChatGPT makes the image and hands it to Yrbk.
  3. Pick the era look. Choose classic, 1970s film, 1980s laser, 1990s marble or 2000s glossy; every photo in the book gets the same treatment.
  4. Let others add theirs. Members upload their own photo, or a retro portrait they made in their own ChatGPT, from the join link.

Era looks in Yrbk

Each book has one look for its pages and photos.

Use it in ChatGPT

Yrbk Group Yearbook is a ChatGPT plugin. The organizer types one of these; members join at yrbk.ambientapp.ai from the link:

  • “Let's make a yearbook for our 10-year class reunion”
  • “Make me a 1990s yearbook portrait from this selfie and add it to our Yrbk”
  • “Close voting on our yearbook and tell me the winners”

Questions

Does Yrbk make the portrait?

No. ChatGPT makes it when you ask; Yrbk puts the image in the book.

Will it print well?

Images from ChatGPT are large enough for the 2 by 2.5 inch portrait spot. Very small images get a note that they may print soft.

Can I use someone else's photo?

Only with their OK. Anyone in the book can remove themselves from their personal page.
